About the position
As a benefits officer, you play a central role in providing service to our members by handling cases, staffing the phone, and responding to messages. The role is part of the local units of the unemployment insurance fund and is an important part of our production operations. You will be part of a team where you work together to achieve set production and operational goals.
Main responsibilities
- Efficient and legally secure handling of various types of cases in our case management system, Våra Sidor.
- Service and guidance to members and authorities in phone calls and through responses to messages from members.

Your analytical ability allows you to effectively manage complex problems and situations. You handle a lot of information and need to be able to determine what is important to reach decisions. You are a skilled communicator who can explain even difficult topics clearly, both verbally and in writing. You are structured and efficient in your work, able to shift focus between different tasks without losing quality, and enjoy collaborating and working towards goals while focusing on results.
You need to be open to the fact that working methods may change and develop based on the digitization occurring throughout society and must have the ability to take responsibility for learning new technology, new working methods, and new information. We also welcome your contributions of ideas and innovative thinking.
You handle and make decisions based on applicable legislation and practice, and the decisions have a significant impact on our members, making it important for you to distinguish between the professional and the personal.
We are looking for someone who has
- A post-secondary education of at least 120 higher education credits with a legal, social science, or behavioral science focus, or other relevant post-secondary education combined with relevant documented experience for the position, such as working as a case officer for benefits cases within unemployment insurance.
- Good IT skills and ease of navigating different technical environments.
- The ability to communicate fluently in Swedish, both orally and in writing. We work with clear language, which means we transform complex legal concepts into clear, understandable, and accurate texts for our members.
- Good knowledge of English.
Meritorious
- If you have experience working with administrative law cases, preferably from unemployment insurance or from an authority that we consider relevant.
- If you have experience making decisions according to the unemployment insurance act and the unemployment insurance funds act.
- Knowledge in interpreting and applying legal texts.
What do we offer you?

From autumn 2025, a completely new unemployment insurance will apply, which means exciting developments for our operations. As a new case officer, you will quickly have the opportunity to, and are expected to, contribute to providing our members with service and guidance, initially through more basic tasks.
As you progress, you will gradually build your knowledge and broaden your competence, with the goal of eventually being able to handle all types of cases included in the role of benefits officer. Training will take place internally over time and will be combined with case handling and contributions to our production. If you are already a trained unemployment insurance case officer and have experience working in our case management system, Våra Sidor, an individual plan will be created for you.

In our offices, around 30 employees work in pleasant premises, and you will be part of one of our teams of case officers.
We offer generous benefits such as
- Weekly working hours of 37.5 hours.
- The possibility to work from home part of the time.
- 32 vacation days and 3 personal days.

- Annual wellness allowance of 5,000 SEK.
The salary range for this position is between 31,000-41,500 SEK depending on experience and competence. Kommunal's unemployment insurance fund has a collective agreement with Handels with salary and working conditions according to the applicable agreement.
About the recruitment process

We are looking for several benefits officers to start as soon as possible by agreement. The positions are permanent employment, with a requirement for a 6-month probationary period.
